Incident - Blyth Lifeboat was called out by HM Coastguard at 00.50 hours Monday 1st March 2010 to search for an angler reported missing off rocks in Cambois bay to the East of the Port of Blyth.

The lifeboat was launched and along with other units from Blyth, Newbiggin, Cullercoats & RAF Boulmer searched an area known as the Rockers and the mouth of the River Wansbeck.

The angler was found and rescued by the Search and Rescue helicopter from RAF Boulmer and was then taken to hospital.

Blyth Lifeboat left the scene, returned to station and was made ready for service at 03.15 hours.
